# A short guide to Tripo Planner

Tripo helps turn a trip idea into a day-by-day itinerary with researched stops, visit durations and a route map. You review a private trip and a separate public Explore preview before saving either.

**Current availability — 12 October 2026:** the planner is being prepared. Sign-in and planning are not open yet. The instructions below describe the flow once access is enabled for approved pilot accounts. External ChatGPT/Claude connections are not active.

## 1. Bring a starting point

Share your destination **and country**, actual start date, number of days, interests and preferred pace. Include transport preferences, budget/currency and dietary or accessibility needs when useful. Avoid sharing sensitive booking or contact details.

For example: “Plan three relaxed days in Da Nang, Vietnam, starting 15 November 2026. We like local food and coastal walks. Use driving for longer transfers and keep suggestions around VND 1,500,000 per person, excluding flights.”

You can write in Vietnamese or English. A plan supports up to 31 days and 100 activities.

## 2. Build a realistic itinerary

The planner selects relevant official tourism and operator sources, records supporting links and researches each stop's exact address. Missing coordinates are resolved from structured street/city/country details through Geoapify. It does not use place names for geocoding or scrape Google Maps.

After the stops and order are settled, it calculates routes from coordinates. Cached addresses last 30 days and routes 24 hours, helping avoid duplicate provider requests. Research and routing have request limits and budget checks.

Before creation, every day needs an activity; every stop needs an address, coordinates and visit duration. Every connecting journey, including transfers between days, needs route geometry, distance, travel time and source information. The schedule must allow time for both visits and travel. A one-stop plan needs no connecting route. Incomplete plans stay drafts.

Drive, walk and cycle routes can be calculated. Other or mixed travel modes need genuine supplied route information. Route times are estimates; check current transport schedules, opening hours and conditions before travelling.

## 3. Review both previews

Your private preview shows the route map, individual journeys, total distance, travel time, separate visit durations and source attribution. Review the addresses, timing and any uncertainty. Request changes before approving; any edit requires approval of the new version.

The Explore preview includes the trip title, destination, day numbers, activity times, places/addresses, visit durations and public descriptions, tips and evidence. It leaves out your actual travel dates, precise coordinates, route geometry, private notes, participant identities and finances. Check that you are comfortable sharing everything shown in that preview.

## 4. Create & publish

Press **Create & publish** only after reviewing both previews. This creates your private trip and publishes the approved itinerary to Explore together. There is no private-only creation action in this flow. Approval applies to that exact version and expires after 24 hours.

Wait for the confirmed trip and publication links. If the outcome is uncertain, let the application recover the existing request instead of starting another creation. Use the main [Tripo app](https://tripo.space/) to edit an existing trip and republish changes explicitly.

The chatbot does not book travel, take payments, invite participants or create expense records. Chat messages expire after 30 days; deleting chat history does not delete saved trips or public snapshots.
